You are driving from Saint Louis, MO to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for a management conference via Interstate 44. You are heading toward Springfield, MO on I44 and are about an hour away when a radio announcer interrupts the program to say that a tornado recently “touched down” in Springfield, MO. Because you recently completed a course in emergency management, you decide to stop in Springfield, MO, and you decide to assist the citizens of Springfield. Mentally, you rehearse all of the encompassing elements of an MCE.
1. Answer the following questions about triage.
a. List the classifications of triage?
b. What items could you use for triage marking?
c. If rendering aid in this disaster, are you held liable in the unfortunate event that the patient becomes worse from your care?
d. What are some specific items you could keep in your vehicle to assist in a triage process?
2. After several hours into your assistance with the natural disaster, it is apparent that many victims have experienced shock. There are several types of shock, some more serious than others.
a. What are the categories of shock?
b. Why is shock dangerous?
c. Pulling information from your education and experiences, how is each category of shock specifically treated? (You can reference pharmacology and biomedical devices even though you would not likely have them in your care or possession.)
This assignment will be a 7th edition APA formatted Word document using Times New Roman 12 font using your own words.
