Dear Contributors,
This is a reminder that your article for the Current Medical and Surgical Treatments for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia issue of Urologic Clinics of North America should be submitted via our Electronic Manuscriipt Submission System (EMSS) by March 1, 2025. Your manuscriipt should be approximately 5,000 words (+/- 1,000 words). This includes Key Points, Text, References, and Figure Legends.
When writing your article, please adhere to the following guidelines:
Important authorship guidelines
Because our goal is authoritative content, student/medical student authors are not permitted; however, fellows and residents can be authors. If there is a special case where a student author is required, please discuss in advance with the Guest Editor or the Elsevier Editor.
Everyone listed as an author is expected to have contributed to the article to a significant extent in line with ICMJE guidelines. We don’t anticipate a need to have more than 3-4 authors on an article. Please see the Clinics Authorship Guidelines for more information.
Important guidelines for preparing your manuscriipt:
Provide each author’s full name, degrees, position/title, affiliations, mailing address, email, and phone number on the article’s title page.
Indicate who will serve as corresponding author (This person will receive proof of the article via email.)
Include a statement disclosing any commercial or financial conflicts of interest and any funding sources for all authors. If this information is not included in the manuscriipt, all authors will be contacted by email and asked to complete a formal disclosure form due to CME regulations.
Keep paragraphs short and use bulleted text, where appropriate.
Make ample use of headings and subheadings.
Use figures, tables, boxes, and/or videos to support concepts.
List references in order of appearance, following AMA style.
Use original artwork and tables whenever possible. If using borrowed material, you must obtain permission in writing and send all licenses to your Clinics Developmental Editor. Without a permissions license, there is no guarantee your borrowed material will be included.
Provide credit lines with complete reference details for the source of any borrowed material.
Upload all materials to our Electronic Manuscriipt Submission System (EMSS).
Note: Figures should be uploaded as individual image files to the FIGURES tab; all other content should be in a single Word document and uploaded to the MANUSCRIPT tab.
Please consider including a video/videos with your article; these are very useful for our readers. Attached are guidelines to assist you in their preparation.
