Edna and Ababio have decided to expand their bee-related business, ‘Bees for Life’ (BFL.) Traditionally, their beekeeping business involved caring for the bees and selling bee-related products such as honey, wax, and bee pollen. However, they realised they could significantly grow their business by expanding into other products – in this case, decorative beeswax candles. Ababio discovered his artistic side and had a real flair for creative candle moulds and designs. Business was going extremely well, and sales from their market stall and online shop were flourishing. They had already grown enough that they had to source beeswax from other suppliers to keep up with demand. Their next step was to pursue contracts with some of the larger retailers. One of the retailers (Morgana’s Emporium) inquired if all the wax they used in their candles was ‘British’, as this was particularly trendy at the moment. Edna contacted her various suppliers who confirmed that all their wax was produced in Britain. She then wrote back to Morganna’s Emporium detailing the list of suppliers along with the information they sent her about their sources. They were also in negotiations with ‘Best Events Ever’ (BEE) and ‘Queen Celebrations’ (QE.) After sending a formal acceptance to BEE’s offer by mail, QE had gotten back to them with an offer involving a surprisingly large order and at a price per candle much higher than what they had negotiated with BEE. However, it was also of a scale they couldn’t supply while also completing BEE’s order. After little deliberation, they decided to accept QE’s offer, and immediately sent an email withdrawing their acceptance by email to BEE knowing the email would arrive well before their acceptance sent by the national postal service. Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before their good luck in business began to turn for the worse. Morgana’s Emporium contacted them after a customer had complained that the candles they described as being made from ‘British Beeswax’ (with details provided about the various suppliers) in fact included beeswax from France. Morgana’s Emporium said they would be seeking damages for breach of contract and misrepresentation. When Edna and Ababio looked into it, they discovered that one of their suppliers had in fact lied to them and so their candles did include French beeswax. The same day, BEE got in touch to confirm they were expecting their first delivery by the end of the week. Advise Edna and Ababio

The PowerPoint presentation should have the following characteristics: A bulleted list of your main points. Appropriate pictures, graphs, or illustrations to support your presentation where applicable. Must include speaker notes to fully explain what is being discussed in the slide bullet points as though you are presenting to an audience. Must include audio narration. Overview
In this assignment, you apply contract and product liability law to a business scenario.
    Scenario
Mowers, Inc., a fictional company, has a flourishing lawn care business. The business has two full-time employees who have been with the company for five years. All employees are trained on using the lawn equipment and, upon being hired signed a waiver-of-liability contract limiting liability for the company. The owner, Brian, tells his employees “Not to worry – the company will protect you!”
One employee, Lori, was on the job cutting a lawn. Lori was riding a mower, a Ferrari 2000, which was three years old and in good working condition. The step-up on the mower had writing on it with a warning sticker to replace the sandpaper liner for traction every three years due to normal wear and tear. It was replaced every three years as required.
Lori stepped down off the rider, slipped because of moisture from the grass, and severed her pinky toe on the mower blade. When she fell to the ground, the mower continued through the grass and proceeded by itself to cut and mulch a neighbor’s prize roses. Peta, the neighbor, was preparing for a rose competition with a potential grand prize of $10,000.

Consider the above scenario and write 3–4 pages in which you make the following determinations. Make sure to cite and explain the law for each determination.
Pursuant to contract law requirements, determine whether the waiver of liability signed by Lori is a valid contract and whether verbal assurances by Brian become part of the contract. Support your response.
Determine whether Peta, the plaintiff, has a product liability case against the manufacturer for each of the following defects. Support your response.
    Design.
    Manufacturing.
    Failure-to-warn.
Determine whether Lori, the employee, has a claim for injuries and whether the employee can recover pain and suffering damages per tort or worker’s compensation law. Support your response.
    Note:
Remember, you are demonstrating your understanding of the law, so explain the law first and then make your determination. Be informative and show what you know! References should be from credible and reputable legal sources.
