Example: Instead of just defining the Microsystem as “the immediate environment around a child,” write something like: “A child’s relationship with their parents in the Microsystem can affect their development. For example, if the parents are supportive and loving, the child might feel secure and develop confidence. But if the parents are critical or distant, the child might struggle with self-esteem.”
    3.Significance
Write a short paragraph explaining why it is important for people working with children to understand these ecological systems. Reflect on how this knowledge can improve their ability to support children’s development in practical settings.

The general manager at your work has asked you to research a possible community service opportunity for this class or your workplace. Some examples include reading to children at a school, sponsoring a blood drive with the Red Cross, or a local wildlife cleaning event.
Your task is to write a three-paragraph (minimum) memo addressed to the general manager and team leads at your store that recommends one charitable organization you wish to partner or volunteer with that you found via a web search. Find the two best rated non-profit or charitable organizations within a 5, 10, 15, and 20 mile radius of of your city.
After searching and collecting the information for these questions, you will analyze this data to decide which charitable organizations would be the best matches to further explore. Use the chart linked below to compare your data from Question 3.  You should list different charities or non-profits for each of the radius distances.  You’ll rank the charities, provide their names and answer the following two questions: 1) What is the organization’s mission and what do they do? 2) How does this match your school or company’s goals?

A horrific fire occurred at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in 1911.  A museum provides displays about the fire and organized labor’s early attempts to achieve their goals. The displays stated that unions were not successful in their efforts to obtain their goals. It was hinted that other factors in society led to union successes.
Go to the Kheel Center for Labor-Management at Cornell University: http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/trianglefire/Links to an external site.  Look at the reproductions of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire in 1911.  The most impactful sections for me was when I clicked on “Read the story of the fire” – “Victims & Witnesses,” and “Explore a model of the 9th floor.”  Spend time perusing the website and reading the various sections.  Attach to this assignment 3-4 paragraphs (150 WORDS MINIMUM) as to what you believe to be the “other factors” that helped unions become successful.  Use Times New Roman 12-point font, double spaced, 1″ margins.  Include your name, BA108 – Assignment 1, and the date on the top of the first page (you do not need a separate title page).
