Abstract Draft Explanations and Instructions
The finishing touch of your paper actually goes at the very beginning. It is the abstract. The abstract portion of your paper is straightforward and simple because it introduces the reader to your content, briefly presents the problem, lists one or two research results, and offers a short conclusion. The abstract should be no more than four to five sentences in length. It serves as a snapshot of your entire paper. Examples of abstracts are below for you to use for a guide.

1. Reason for writing: What is the importance of the research? Why would a reader be interested in the larger work? (3 points)
2. Problem: What problem does this work attempt to solve? What is the scope of the project? What is the main argument/thesis/claim? (3 points)
3. Results: Again, an abstract of a scientific work may include specific data that indicates the results of the project. Other abstracts may discuss the findings in a more general way. (3 points)
4. Implications: What changes should be implemented as a result of the findings of the work? How does this work add to the body of knowledge on the topic? (3 points)

Research Conclusions Draft Explanations and Instructions
You are nearing the home stretch! The research conclusions portion of your paper is where your thoughts, ideas, and conclusions come to fruition. Your conclusions are important to your paper because as the researcher, the reader is viewing you as the expert on your topic. With that in mind, your conclusions are an important part of your paper. Please type your answers in red font.

1. What is your research topic?
2. List no more than three main points that you found in your research.
3. What is the bottom line of your research (what did your research indicate)?
4. What is the main message you want your readers to take away from your paper? Does what you have written so far accomplish your main message? Why or why not?
5. Using the answers you gave to the questions above, craft your conclusions below EXACTLY AS YOU WOULD IN YOUR FINAL PAPER.
